Cambodia Visa Guide: e-Visa, VOA & Entry Rules
Cambodia's e-visa is open to most passports and is applied for online before you fly. A small group of ASEAN and neighbouring nationalities enter visa-free for short stays, and many other passports can also get a visa on arrival at the main airports and open land borders. A few nationalities must apply at a Cambodian embassy in advance.
- e-Visa for 192 passports
- Government fee from $36

Plusvisa is a private visa application service, not a government agency or embassy. Official government source: Cambodia e-Visa (evisa.gov.kh), evisa.gov.kh.

How Cambodia visa fees work
Who sets the fee. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation sets Cambodia's e-visa and visa-on-arrival fees. Both are charged in US dollars, which circulate alongside the riel throughout Cambodia.
No official express fee. There is no government fast-track charge. E-visas are usually issued in about three working days, and visa on arrival is issued on the spot at the border.
Refunds. Visa fees are not refunded if an application is refused, rejected for missing details, or a trip is cancelled after payment.
Pay in clean dollars. Visa on arrival is paid in cash at the border. Officers can refuse worn, torn or heavily marked banknotes, so bring clean US dollar bills.
Embassy fees differ. Cambodian embassies abroad set their own local-currency fee for visas issued in person or by post, separate from the e-visa and visa-on-arrival fee.
What Plusvisa charges
The government fee is passed through at cost. Our service fee is on top, and every passport's page shows the total before you start.
If we make a mistake that leads to a refusal, we refund our fee and re-apply free.

Cambodia e-Arrival
A free single form combining the immigration, health and customs declarations. Complete it within 7 days of your arrival date and keep the QR code you receive. Official page (opens in a new tab)
The only official website, and how to check status
evisa.gov.kh is the only official Cambodian e-visa website, run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Other websites that look similar or charge more for the same service are private, and some are fraudulent.
Checking your status
Use the check-and-change tool on evisa.gov.kh with your application reference number to see whether your e-visa has been approved.
Why Cambodia e-Visas get rejected
Almost every refusal is a file problem, not a judgement about you.
Incomplete or incorrect form
Missing details, mismatched names, or information that doesn't match your passport are common reasons applications are rejected.
Passport doesn't meet the rules
A passport with less than 6 months' validity, no blank page, or visible damage can lead to refusal.
Poor-quality photo
Blurry, cropped, outdated, or non passport-style photos are often rejected.
Payment not completed
An application with a failed or incomplete online payment will not be processed.
Nationality not eligible online
Some nationalities cannot use the e-visa or visa on arrival, and must apply at a Cambodian embassy instead.
Suspected fraud or duplication
Applying twice, or through an unofficial site that submits false or altered information, can lead to refusal.
Sockets and power in Cambodia
Type A
Two flat pins
Type C
Two round pins · 2.5 A
Type G
Three flat pins · 13 A
Type A
Cambodia uses type A, C and G sockets. If your own plugs are a different type, one type A adapter covers the whole trip.
Voltage
230 V · 50 Hz
Check the label on chargers and appliances: anything marked 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz works here with only an adapter, no converter.
Pack: a type A adapter unless your own plugs already match, and a small power strip — hotel rooms rarely have more than two sockets.

Getting around
Tuk-tuks, ride-hailing apps and hired cars with a driver are the easiest way to get around Cambodian towns and cities. Roads between provinces can be rough, and self-driving a scooter needs care and caution.
Health precautions
Tap water isn't safe to drink; stick to bottled or filtered water. Use mosquito repellent, since dengue is present, and check recommended vaccinations with a travel clinic before you go.
Respect local customs
Remove your shoes and hat before entering temples and homes, dress modestly at religious sites, and avoid touching anyone's head. Public displays of affection are frowned on.
Cambodian Riels, cash and cards
Cambodia uses the Cambodian Riel (KHR).
US dollars are everyday cash
Cambodia runs on both US dollars and riel side by side. Larger notes and most prices are quoted in dollars; riel is used mainly for small change.
ATMs are easy to find
ATMs in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and other towns dispense US dollars and accept most foreign cards, usually for a withdrawal fee. Carry cash for rural areas and land borders.
Cards work in cities, cash elsewhere
Hotels, bigger restaurants and shops take cards, but markets, tuk-tuks and small guesthouses expect cash, so keep a stock of small dollar and riel notes.

Questions everyone asks about Cambodia visas
Most travellers need a visa, either an e-visa applied for online, a visa issued on arrival, or one from a Cambodian embassy. A small number of ASEAN and neighbouring passports can enter visa-free for a set number of days.
No. It's a free digital immigration, health and customs declaration that every traveller, including Cambodians, must submit online within 7 days of arrival. You still need a visa if your passport requires one.
A tourist e-visa or visa on arrival allows a 30-day stay, which can be extended once for a further 30 days at the immigration department.
E-visas are accepted at Cambodia's three international airports and at a limited number of land border crossings. Check the official checkpoint list before travelling, since some borders are exit-only or closed.
Overstaying carries a daily fine, paid in cash at the airport or border when you leave the country.
Yes. It's run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Other websites offering the same service are private and often charge more.
Tourist visas can be extended once for 30 days at Cambodia's immigration department. Other visa types have their own extension rules.
Children travelling on their own passport generally need the same type of visa as adults. Check specific rules for infants on a parent's passport with an embassy or the e-visa portal.

Each guide has the fee for that passport, its maximum stay, the rules that apply only to it, and the application itself.
