- Important change
- New e-visa / ETA

Serbia now issues short-stay visas electronically, so travellers whose nationality requires a Serbian visa can apply online instead of visiting an embassy. The system launched in June 2025 for 46 nationalities, with expansion planned. The e-visa allows stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period; visa rules and conditions remain unchanged.
Serbia has introduced an electronic visa system for short-stay visits, allowing travellers whose nationality requires a Serbian visa to apply online instead of going to an embassy. The system began issuing e-visas in April 2025 and launched publicly in June 2025, initially covering nationals of 46 countries. Applications require passport details, a photo and trip information, and can be refused. Approved visas are digital and checked electronically at the border.
The e-visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. It does not change who needs a visa: visa-exempt travellers are unaffected. The government has said the list of eligible nationalities will be extended, but an updated count has not been published.
What this means for travelers
- If your nationality requires a Serbian visa, check whether the e-visa route is available to you before booking an embassy appointment.
- Carry a printed copy of your e-visa with the same passport you used to apply.
- If you are travelling in and out of Serbia across the region, keep track of your days: time in Serbia counts toward the 90-day limit and an e-visa does not reset it.
