Turkish ordinary passport holders apply online on the official Saudi eVisa portal before flying. It covers tourism, business, family visits and Umrah outside the Hajj period.
Official passport
The destination guide's general rule is that diplomatic, special and official passport holders apply through diplomatic channels rather than the eVisa portal, so these travellers should contact a Saudi mission in Türkiye.
Used US/UK/Schengen visa
Travellers with a valid, already-used US, UK or Schengen visa in the same passport can instead get a visa at the airport on arrival, without applying online first.
Türkiye issues ordinary passports and official or diplomatic passports. Saudi Arabia treats them differently for the eVisa.
Ordinary passport
e-Visa eligibleHolders can apply online on the official Saudi eVisa portal for tourism, business, family visits or Umrah outside the Hajj period.
Official or diplomatic passport
Diplomatic channelsThese holders are not on the eVisa route. They apply through a Saudi mission in Türkiye instead.

* The government fee is the government's own charge, never refundable. All-in adds Plusvisa's service fee, per traveller; it is refunded if we cause a refusal.
On the eVisa, Turkish citizens can stay up to 90 days per visit, with multiple entries allowed over the one year the visa is valid for. The 90 days is a per-visit limit, not a running total across the year.
90 days per visit: Each entry allows a stay of up to 90 days. Leaving and re-entering starts a new 90-day stay, as long as the one-year visa is still valid.
Multiple entry, one year: The eVisa is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued, not from the date of first entry, and can be used for more than one trip within that year.
Not a residence route: The eVisa is for tourism, business, family visits and non-Hajj Umrah. It does not give the right to work or to stay beyond 90 days at a time.
Four things to have ready before you start your application, as a Turkish applicant.
Ordinary Turkish passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Use the same passport for the application and at the border.
200 x 200 pixels, 5 to 100 KB, plain white background, no other people or objects, face filling 70 to 80 percent of the frame, taken within the last 6 months.
Used to create the account and to receive the issued eVisa as an attachment.
A debit or credit card to pay the government fee online at checkout. Check with your bank that it allows payments to the Saudi eVisa portal.
Processing takes 3–5 business days. Enter your arrival date and we'll work backwards.

No official minimum or maximum lead time was found. Approvals are often issued quickly, but applying about a week ahead leaves time to fix a rejected photo or detail and resubmit before you fly.
Do you hold an ordinary Turkish passport valid for at least 6 months after you enter Saudi Arabia?
Is your trip for tourism, business, a family visit, or Umrah outside the Hajj period?
Are you 18 or older, or travelling with a guardian aged 18 or over?
Will you travel on the same passport you use in the application?

On the official portal
Create an account

Türkiye was added to the Saudi eVisa list on 17 October 2023. Before that, Turkish citizens needed a sticker visa from a Saudi mission.
Ordinary passport holders can usually use the eVisa for tourism, business, family visits and non-Hajj Umrah. A sticker visa from a Saudi mission in Türkiye remains an option if you prefer it or if your trip does not fit the eVisa's purposes.
No. Official and diplomatic passport holders apply through a Saudi mission in Türkiye rather than the eVisa portal.
Yes, outside the Hajj season. The tourist eVisa can be used for Umrah as well as tourism, business and family visits, but not for Hajj itself.
No. The eVisa itself is valid for 1 year from issue and allows multiple entries, but each individual stay is limited to 90 days.
The visa on arrival route is for travellers who already hold a valid, used US, UK or Schengen visa, or who are residents of those places or a GCC country. Turkish citizens without one of these should use the eVisa or an embassy visa instead.
You must travel on the same passport you used for the eVisa application. Using a different Turkish passport, even a newly issued one, can cause problems at the border.

Type G
Saudi Arabia uses type G sockets and your plugs are type C and F. A C-to-G adapter works for the whole trip.

Against 230 V · 50 Hz at home. Check the label on chargers and appliances: anything marked 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz works in both.

Getting around
Riyadh has a metro and bus network; Jeddah and other cities rely on taxis and ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Careem. Car hire is easy and common for trips between cities and to sites like AlUla.
Heat and health
Summers are extremely hot, with daytime highs above 40C from May to September. Carry water, limit time outdoors at midday, and use sun protection, especially away from the coast.
Dress and etiquette
Modest dress is expected for everyone in public: shoulders and knees covered. Alcohol is illegal. Public life pauses briefly at prayer times, when some shops and restaurants close for a short while.
Saudi Arabia uses the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
₺1 ≈ SAR0.109 · indicative mid-market rate, possibly a few days old
Cards work almost everywhere
Bank cards and mobile payments are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants in cities, so carrying large amounts of cash is rarely necessary.
Keep small notes for cash tips
Riyal notes are still useful for tipping porters, valets and drivers, and for small vendors and traditional markets that prefer cash.
ATMs are widely available
Cash machines are common in airports, malls and city centres and accept most international bank cards, but can be scarcer in small towns and rural areas.
