Most Singapore travellers
Singapore is on Saudi Arabia's eVisa list. Apply online before flying with a passport valid 6 months, a compliant photo and an email address. No embassy visit is needed.
Used US, UK, Schengen visa
If a Singapore passport already carries a valid, used US, UK or Schengen visa, a visa on arrival can be obtained at the airport instead, without applying online first.

The Saudi tourist eVisa lets a Singapore passport holder stay up to 90 days on each visit, and it can be used for multiple entries within one year of issue. The 90 days is per visit, not a total for the year.
Tourist E-visa: 90 days per visit.
Arrive 1 March
63 of 90 days
1 Mar – 2 May: 63 of the 90 days this visa allows in one visit.
Per visit, not cumulative: Each entry allows up to 90 days. The one-year validity lets a traveller come and go several times, but any single stay still cannot exceed 90 days.
Same passport required: Entry is checked against the passport used for the application. Travelling on a new or replacement Singapore passport after applying can cause problems at the border.
Overstaying: Staying beyond the permitted 90 days is an immigration offence in Saudi Arabia. The eVisa itself does not cover extensions, so plan the trip to fit within the stay allowed.
Entry is not guaranteed: Holding a valid eVisa does not guarantee entry. The immigration officer at the border makes the final decision based on the conditions met on arrival.
Four things to have ready before you start your application, as a Singaporean applicant.
Valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry to Saudi Arabia. Use the same Singapore passport for the application and at the border.

The official portal sets no fixed earliest or latest date for eVisa applications, but applying at least a week before departure leaves time to fix a rejected photo or resubmit details.
Is your trip for tourism, leisure, visiting family, or Umrah outside the Hajj season?
Does your Singapore passport have at least 6 months' validity left from your entry date?
Will you travel on the same Singapore passport you use for the application?
Are you aged 18 or over, or travelling with a guardian aged 18 or over?

Answer all four
Four quick checks of the rules that most often catch travellers out, and we'll tell you where you stand.
Before you apply
Check your passport and photo
Make sure your Singapore passport has at least 6 months' validity from your entry date, and prepare a digital photo to the official specification.
Have an email address and card ready
You need a working email address to register and receive the eVisa, and a payment card for the online fee.
On the official portal
Register on the official portal
Create and verify an account on the Saudi eVisa portal using your email address.
Enter your details
Fill in your Singapore passport and personal details exactly as they appear on your passport, upload your photo, and answer the eligibility questions.
Pay the fee
Pay the government fee online by card. VAT is added automatically at checkout.
After you apply
Receive your eVisa by email
If approved, the eVisa arrives as an email attachment. Save a copy, printed or digital, to show on arrival.
Travel on the same passport
Fly on the same Singapore passport used in the application. Immigration will take your biometric details on arrival.

Yes. Singapore is on Saudi Arabia's eVisa list, so most Singapore passport holders can apply online before flying, without visiting an embassy.
No. Travellers from eVisa-eligible countries, including Singapore, do not need an invitation, accommodation proof or a bank statement. These are only asked of embassy-route applicants.
The eVisa allows multiple entries over one year, so it can support side trips, as long as each stay in Saudi Arabia is no more than 90 days and the visa is still valid.
You should travel on the same passport used in the application. If your passport changes before your trip, you will likely need to apply again with the new one.
Not usually needed. As a Singapore citizen you can normally use the eVisa directly. The visa-on-arrival route using a used US, UK or Schengen visa is mainly for travellers who are not from an eVisa-eligible country.
Yes, outside the Hajj season. The tourist eVisa covers Umrah as well as tourism, leisure and visiting family.
A common reason is a photo that does not meet the specification, or details that do not match your passport. Check the requirements, correct the issue, and apply again; the portal does not refund a rejected application's fee.

48 hours easy, compared with home
Type G
Three flat pins · 13 A
Type G
Type G is used both at home and in Saudi Arabia, so your own plugs fit.
Voltage
230 V · 60 Hz
Against 230 V · 50 Hz at home. Check the label on chargers and appliances: anything marked 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz works in both.
Pack: nothing special — your type G plugs go straight in. A small power strip is still handy where hotel rooms have one socket.

Getting around
Riyadh has a metro and bus network; Jeddah and other cities rely on taxis and ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Careem. Car hire is easy and common for trips between cities and to sites like AlUla.
Heat and health
Summers are extremely hot, with daytime highs above 40C from May to September. Carry water, limit time outdoors at midday, and use sun protection, especially away from the coast.
Dress and etiquette
Modest dress is expected for everyone in public: shoulders and knees covered. Alcohol is illegal. Public life pauses briefly at prayer times, when some shops and restaurants close for a short while.
Saudi Arabia uses the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
$1 ≈ SAR2.8 · indicative mid-market rate, possibly a few days old
Cards work almost everywhere
Bank cards and mobile payments are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants in cities, so carrying large amounts of cash is rarely necessary.
Keep small notes for cash tips
Riyal notes are still useful for tipping porters, valets and drivers, and for small vendors and traditional markets that prefer cash.
ATMs are widely available
Cash machines are common in airports, malls and city centres and accept most international bank cards, but can be scarcer in small towns and rural areas.
