The UK has updated its guidance listing approved tuberculosis (TB) test clinics in Paraguay for visa applicants. One clinic in Asunción, "Valerie Healy de Calvo", has been removed from the list. The requirement for a TB test still applies to people coming to the UK for six months or more who have lived in Paraguay, or another listed country, within the last six months.

The UK's guidance on tuberculosis (TB) testing for visa applicants in Paraguay has been updated. The change removes one clinic in Asunción from the list of approved testing centres, so anyone applying from Paraguay should check which clinics are still recognised before booking.

The underlying rule is unchanged: a TB test is required if you are coming to the UK for six months or more and you have lived in Paraguay for at least six months, or were living there or in another listed country within the last six months. The same requirement applies to fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner applicants on a family visa, and to returning residents, who have been away for more than two years.

What this means for travelers

  • One approved TB testing clinic in Asunción, Paraguay is no longer on the list.
  • Applicants who planned to use that clinic must arrange their test elsewhere.
  • The requirement to obtain a TB certificate for long stays still applies.
  • Check the current list of approved clinics before booking your test.
