Expo 2027 Belgrade
Ninety-three days of sport and music for all, next to Belgrade's airport.
What's happening
Belgrade hosts a specialised world expo, a smaller, three-month sister of the big six-month Expos, on a new site at Surčin next to Nikola Tesla Airport. More than 140 countries have confirmed pavilions, and organisers expect over four million visits.

Beside it, a 52,000-seat national stadium is going up, due to be finished at the end of 2026; it will host the Europa League final in 2028. Tickets for the Expo itself were not yet on sale in October 2026.
Why go
- A whole world of pavilions in one summer, smaller and easier than a six-month Expo.
- Belgrade's nightlife, river bars and food are reasons on their own.

Apophis flies past the Earth
An asteroid the size of three football pitches passes closer than our satellites.
What's happening
On the evening of 13 April 2029, the asteroid 99942 Apophis, about 340 metres across, passes less than 32,000 km above the Earth's surface: closer than the satellites that carry TV signals. From Europe, Africa and west Asia it will be visible to the naked eye, a moving point of light crossing the sky in a few hours.
Closer to us than the satellites that carry our TV.
When it was found in 2004, early numbers gave it a small chance of hitting us; better orbits ruled that out. Now it is a gift for science. The European Space Agency's Ramses probe, due to launch in 2028, aims to fly alongside it as it passes.
Why go
- No telescope needed: just a dark sky and the right evening.

Questions readers ask
Are the tickets real?
No. They are souvenirs, not valid for entry. Buy real tickets only from each event's official organiser, and be wary of anyone selling them before official sales open.
How sure are these dates?
Every date and host was checked against the organisers and NASA in October 2026. Eclipses, Apophis and Halley's Comet run to celestial mechanics and will not move. Sports dates can still shift, and for the Commonwealth Games and the 2034 World Cup they are not set yet.
What does tearing off a stub do?
It keeps that trip in your trip wallet, on this page and in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere. It is a list of the trips you would like to make.
Which of these can Plusvisa help with?
Plusvisa applies for e-Visas to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Cambodia: that covers the Luxor eclipse, the Asian Cup, Expo 2030 Riyadh and the 2034 World Cup. For everything else, the visa guides show what your passport needs.
